If you are looking for a super comfortable cottage in a rural setting with superb views and privacy then I would highly recommend crossbill cottage. Looking forward to return and to explore the area further.

Spencer Roberts:

This is the third time that I've stayed at Crossbill, and as ever it's been perfect. The owners, Robert and Patricia are exceptionally warm, friendly and generous. They were always happy to help if I needed anything  - and they were never imposing. I had a fantastic Christmas and New Year here with my family. Our daughter Polly loved her present and the food that was left for Santa's reindeer. She got very excited about feeding the chickens with Patricia - and the eggs were lovely! We came back for a second visit a few weeks ago and then I came up on my own to finish some writing. It was outstanding on each occasion.

I can't fault Crossbill,  it was the perfect family hideaway and the perfect writing retreat. We'll be back again before too long!

Thanks so much.

The owners of this property were extremely friendly & welcoming and did all they could to ensure we had a great holiday. The property was lovely and relaxing; in a beautiful secluded location with fantastic surrounding countryside and perfect for the children who enjoyed playing in and around the cottage as much as our days out. The summer house filled with toys, garden with wooded area, along with the hens made it ideal for our children who loved every minute! Great walks from the doorstep meant that we were able to enjoy car free days alongside trips out to the many local attractions. Our favourites were Helmesley Castle, Rievelaux Terraces & further afield Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay.

Ej Heinzelmann:
We thought the property was very clean and tidy as well as providing great views of the surrounding countryside
